I have been taking my 308 brass and going down to 708,
708 has much better ballistics then the 308.

I ordered a 6.5 creedmoor rifle and planning
to take the 708 to 6.5cm.

Not sure what hornady headspace insert to use for
6.5 creedmoor ?

Datum show .400 but some suggest .375  not sure

You'll most likely have to neck turn if you do that. I'd just buy 6.5 brass.

Buying 6.5 brass saves a lot of time and headache.
It pays to be a winner.

I bought the rcbs full length
Sizing die for the 708.
I already have the dies for
6.5 cm because I have an rpr.

I did buy some hornady eld 142gr
Ammo. With 50% off second box
And $10 coupon it still cost me
Over a $1 a round.
Anyway,  I found a barrel maker
That will make mcgowenbarrel
They said they will make and install
Barrel on my mossberg mvp lc 7.62
Action.
I annealed,  some win 308 brass and
Some 7.62 brass and sized
To 708. Real easy no issues.
I don't have a 7mm chamber to
Check headspace now, but took
Brass down to below max by
About 10k.
I did split the neck on one of the two
Winchester brass cases I sized
To 708 first, before going to 6.5cm.
 No sure why.
Neck would have to be turned
If I wanted to go that way.
Once you size the brass to 6.5
And trim turn neck, you don't have
Do that again to those cases.

Thanks
But,  I have like a
Thousand hornady, winchester and
7.62 brass.( my rifle is chambered 7.62)
 I just received
The the hornady neck turn
Tool. Wish they would have
Told me ,the shell holder
Is separate.
I sized a hornady case to
6.5cm and turned by hand
To see how it cuts.
It seems to work really well
And is easy. Turned it hand.
I know lapua is great stuff,
But I'm not a competition
Shooter.
I feel I don't have to buy the
Best of the best, most expensive
Stuff to hit steel at longer
Distances.
