Looking to upgrade my glass and considering these two offerings from Vortex. The application is mainly target and hopefully some PRS type matches in the future. Other than the obvious weight differences, looking for opinions on the pros and cons for either scope. Had a chance to look through a Gen 2 and was very impressed. Don't think I will get that opportunity on an AMG anytime soon, but would at least like to get on the waiting list if that's the direction I should go.

Thanks

I use a Gen 2.

The specs on the AMG are certainly respectable, but (and I'm just going from memory here), there's not quite as much elevation adjustment in the AMG (probably because it's a 30mm tube?).

In any case.. I've not seen one yet, but here's my line of thinking:  The glass is at LEAST as good as a Gen 2, I'm sure.  The cost is the same.  If you are good with the adjustment range, then get it.  It's lighter than the Gen 2.  By a good amount, too.

Kind of had my heart set on the AMG, but I found a used Gen 2 for $1,100.00. Guy says it's in great shape. That seems like a steal.
