Hi guys! And I do mean guys because the women seem somewhat scarce in this sport!  ;)

We've started into precision rifle as a family this summer. My daughter (age 15) is the long-range shooter in the family - we always say she'd be on overwatch when the zombie apocalypse comes LOL. DH and I are the support team - DH is the "wind talker" and I'm the "note taker." And of course he and I are the wallet openers too! We're just glad she's found a sport she enjoys and has fun with.

She's in her first match in October - just a club match in IL but I'm hoping she has fun and gets the bug to do more.

Looking forward to learning more and thanks for the board!

Yes, you are right about women being scarce in this sport. So welcome! Don't be afraid to ask, or give, opinions in here!

I think the slightly different point of view will be refreshing!

Welcome aboard!  Women are scarce, but they sure are out there. April Dawn on here competes at the club level, and at the PRS level there are several pretty well known female shooters.

Where is the club match in IL? We aren't far from there.  Are you coming up to watch and/or RO at the border wars finale this next coming Saturday?

Hi Jeff!

Thanks. The match is at Aurora Sportsman's Club - it's their Practical Precision Rifle series. Looks fairly straightforward and I think will be a good intro for us to the sport.

We actually have plans this weekend (it's been a crazy late summer/early fall) so are not able to go to the BW finale. We had tried to get in to BW but were too late (we didn't really think my daughter wanted to compete until June). I am hoping we can get her in next season though. Looks like a great series.

Ah, the ppr. Jonathan runs a tight ship, it'll be a good match for her. Targets aren't too far, the range only goes to 600.be sure to come back and let us know how she does!
