Has anyone got details for this match?  I'm looking for range address, check in schedule, etc.  Basically the info that the match director usually sends out to attendees.  I bought a spot for the match from someone who can't make it so I assume I'm just not on the email list that got this info.  I tried emailing the MD a few days ago but havn't had luck getting a response yet.

Thanks,
Eric

Hello shooters,

We are less than two weeks out from our first Wisconsin match of the year. If you have not been to Winnequah Gun Club, you are in for a treat!

LOCATION & HOTELS
We are located approximately 30 minutes north of Madison, just north of Lodi, Wisconsin. If you are looking for a hotel, the closest is a Quality Inn and Suites about ten minutes away on I-90 and Hwy 60. Other spots with hotels nearby are Baraboo, Sauk City, and Deforest.

Please enter the range via the north entrance off Hwy V. You’ll enter the indoor range parking lot and turn to your right. Follow that road all the way until you see a covered picnic area and parking lot. You can’t miss it.

SCHEDULE & FORMAT

Gates will be open by 0700. Check in and self-squad will be from 0730-8000. Mandatory shooter meeting at 8:15 and we hope to have rounds downrange by 0815. You will not be able to drive your cars all the way to the shooting lines – so be prepared to haul gear up to 500 yards.

We will shoot 9 stages with a round count of 87. We are currently planning on shooting our first stage at 1150 yards, so be sure you have DOPE out to that distance. Pack your own lunch, we are usually done with shooting around 2pm and have prizes awarded not long after that.

VOLUNTEERS
I am looking for additional volunteers to help with the match, but more than likely this will be a self-help match meaning you will help score and spot for people in your group. If you have a tripod with spotting scope / binos please consider bringing them. Please pass this info on to anyone interested in volunteering. We will set up the stages on Friday, and anyone who wants to help us run the match Saturday can shoot the stages for fun Friday.

WEATHER
It’s still two weeks out but the forecast calls for rain. We will shoot rain or shine, so long as it is safe to do so (no lightning). We have MagnetoSpeed target hit indicator lights on all our long range targets, so we should be set. If for some reason the weather makes shooting certain stages impossible, we will modify the match accordingly.

SAFETY
We will run a cold range. Rifles must be unloaded, magazine out, bolt open with chamber flag when not in use. Shooters will not remove chamber flags or load rifles until directed to do so by the RO.

Shooters must be on the target berm before charging a round. “Skyloading” violations will receive a warning. Multiple violations will result in match DQ. Any rounds which leave the range will result in a stoppage of shooting and a match DQ.

When moving from position to position, even if only on the same barricade, bolts will be open and again, closed once the shooter has reasonably acquired their target. Semi-auto rifles must be switched to safe and the shooter must announce “safe” when moving to a different position. Warnings will be given by the range officer for violations. Repeated violations will result in match DQ.

Please review additional safety information on our website at bwrifle.com under “information.”

PRIZES
This is a full prize table BWRS match. Awards will be given out at the stat shack near the 1000 yard firing line (same place we will meet in the morning).

OTHER RESTRICTIONS
See www.bwrifle.com/info for complete rules

3200 fps is the maximum muzzle velocity allowed for this event (to keep our steel intact).
NO STEEL CORE OR 'GREEN TIP' OR MILITARY BALL OR RUSSIAN AMMO PERMITTED.
Typical calibers are .308, 6.5mm Creedmoor, .260 Remington, 6mm Creedmore, 6.5x47 Lapua, 6x47 Lapua, 6mm Dasher.

Most magnums are NOT allowed (for instance, .338 Lapua, .300 WinMag and 7mm Rem Magnum are not allowed ). As a guide, 3000 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle (with or without muzzle brake) is the maximum reasonable load for the comfort and safety of shooters on the platform next to you in a confined area. If you are running more than about 55 grains of powder, you may not be allowed to shoot some of the stages where shooters are tightly pack on a platform or narrow shooting area, or the shorter stages where damage to target hangers is likely.

If you have questions about a load, contact us for a determination well before the match. We reserve the right to disqualify any load that may cause damage to the steel, stands, or injury to participants.

No tripods or shooting sticks for rear support.
