Shot this match last weekend.  As usual, Mike and Cody put on an excellent match.  Stages were challenging, but not punishing, and there were good scores to be had if you were up to it.  Lunch on the range was excellent, and dinner at the awards was well worth the wait.

The wind was blowing, the temperature was beautiful, and you couldn't have asked for a better few days.

Some interesting things at this match that I've not run into before:  2 spinners on one stage.  I like it!  TYL at 600+ yards - on top of a berm, so you had no idea about your misses - and the small target was a 4" wide prairie dog - in 15-20 MPH winds!  Yeah, I only got the first 4 targets there.

All in all, I didn't really make many errors, or have any issues with my mental game to speak of.  I just didn't practice enough over the winter to keep my skills up.  Shooting is, indeed, a perishable skill, and it cost me.  I finished in 46th place, and got a $200 certificate to Precision Reloading for my efforts.  That turned into bullets for my practice gun on the drive home, so there's always that silver lining.  I need to spend more time behind that practice gun, that's for sure.

It was great to see old friends again, and also really nice to see a lot more veteran shooters come out to support this match - folks that didn't go last year.  I'm glad Mike and Cody are having success with this match, and I look forward to shooting it again next year.
Every time you make a typo, the errorists win.
