New to rifle reloading and recently purchased a Ruger RPR. I want to get an accurate load for 600 yards. I have gotten 10 Sierra 80gr BTHP match bullets. The load data says it needs an OAL of 2.550. I determined with that bullet could only get an overall length to the lands and grooves of 2.470". I loaded 6 rounds at 2.450"with 23.5gr of CFE223, the Max was 24.1 and shot all six before I realized that the recommended length was 2.550. I found no sign of over pressure at the primers. The load produced a three shot group at 600 yards of exactly 2 inches. Am I okay to use that overall length even though it is .100" shorter than the recommended OAL. I've got a .020" jump to the rifling.
