Hi Guys
I'm looking for some training, and range pracice in or arround NY State. The longest ranges by me are in the 300 yard range, and obviously don't suit my needs to stretch out practice sessions.

I'm willing to do private or group training.

Thanks
Eric

Closest one I know off the top of my head is Thunder Valley in Ohio.

I *think* I read somewhere that there's a range near Olean that may or may not have training, but damned if I can remember the name of it.

Call east Aurora rod & gun (if they are still operating) and see if anyone there has any ideas...

Where in NY?

WNY:
Longguntraining.com offered some good classes. I took the first 2 (of 3) last year. Great instructors, and always good guys in the classes

http://www.ghostfirearmstraining.com has some classes out in Lewistown PA. Looks like a cool facility, but I have never been.

If I was you I would check out Wolf Precision I have attended classes there and it is a very good school. I am going to Ghost this spring. Both schools go out to 1,000 yd +.

Thanks Gunny.
I will check them out.

Im also thinking of contacting the Olean Rod and  Gun Club. They have a range out to 600. It looks l like they had a rifle comp, but no one has run it. Thinking of stepping up... Anyone want to shoot/help if we can get something going?

You have Freddie from Black Hat Training Corps in Lewistown,  PA. I've trained with them before. Really good training and they shoot competitively.  Jamie over at Wolf Precision is also a great guy and good trainer.  He used to shoot competitively,  maybe he still does,  and he's a heck of a shot.  Either one would do well.

Eric,

I came across this thread and was seeing if you had gone to the Olean shooting range? I am in Arcade (about 20min south of East Aurora and 35min north of Olean) Most ranges aroiund here are 200yds outdoor, max. (there is a 300yd too) I goto gravel pits that can reach out to 800 yards but the winds are a large factor and almost make it not worth it. Plus I am working on my first long distance rifle build and currently only own hunting rifles and old military rifles. Shipping my Stiller TAC30 .308 to get smithed with a Krieger barrel before mounting it on a Mcmillan stock and Burris glass. Once I complete the build I will be looking to compete and seek out other enthusiasts for range shooting.

Let me know how the Olean range is, I'm sure I'll be there soon.

regards,
Brennan

The winds make it not worth it? No wind in the gravel pits?
